Architect, Visionary, and Builder
C.M. Hellmann, is an award-winning architect who was born in Germany, spent his high school years in Holland, and completed both his B.A. and M.Arch. in the United States, the latter at Georgia Tech. His roots reflect a rich tapestry of culture and creativity. His ethos is one that incorporates both form and function, not only to inform architecture but, also, to advance a more livable world.
C.M. initially worked with larger firms, designing automotive dealerships around the country, but following the terror of 9/11, opted to curb his travels and, instead, focus his practice on designing residential homes and communities here, in Atlanta. Although his personal aesthetic is contemporary and modern with hints of mid-century modern elements, he has designed Italianate villas at Lake Lanier and classic homes in Druid Hills, as well as everything in between, catering to his clients' needs and tastes and embracing a diverse range of SFR projects.
C.M.'s design/build firm was established in 2005 and had a steady stream of projects and revenue, but the financial crisis of 2008 reshaped his professional journey, shifting his architectural vision from simply designing dwellings to pursuing projects that include urban farming and collective learning/living communities, as well as partnering with some of the better-known influencers in this field and he currently has several such projects underway.
C.M. stands out not only for his unparalleled dedication to architecture but, also, for his unwavering commitment to his clients, helping them turn their dreams and dream homes, into reality. His design/build approach eliminates middlemen and, by so doing, there's little risk of contractors failing to interpret blueprints or misunderstanding the 'vision.' As such, his customer satisfaction is high; indeed much, if not most, of his business is sustained by word-of-mouth referrals.
